The IDC HPC User Forum will meet at The Grand Hyatt Seattle, September 15 to 17, 2014. HPC User Forum meetings are open to anyone with an interest in high performance computing or high performance data analysis (big data using HPC), including users, vendors, funders, and others.
Monday, September 22, 2014 to Friday, September 26, 2014
The evolution of cluster technologies is expected to substantially impact emerging research areas, such as the increasingly important Data Science field. Therefore, we have chosen this year to highlight research topics expected to bring substantial progress in the way clusters can help in addressing Big Data challenges. Specific topics are dedicated to this direction within all conference tracks alongside more traditional topics. In addition, special tutorials and workshops will focus on cluster technologies for Big Data storage and processing.
Monday, September 29, 2014 to Tuesday, September 30, 2014
The ISC Cloud’14 event will be held on September 29th and 30th at the Heidelberg Marriott, followed by ISC Big Data’14. Following the recommendations of our participants, this year, we will be inviting expert speakers with hands-on experience reporting on advanced achievement, providing all attendees insightful and practical details about the benefits, challenges, lessons learned, and recommendations. This conference is highly valuable for members of the scientific and engineering communities who want to understand this massive trend of mainstream HPC and Cloud.
Wednesday, October 1, 2014 to Thursday, October 2, 2014
The second ISC Big Data conference will take place at the beginning of October and will build on multiple pillars: the positive experience from the inaugural event, the global strength of the main ISC conference that gather 2500 experts from the High Performance Community each year, and the co-scheduled ISC Cloud event just prior to ISC Big Data.
The IDC HPC User Forum will meet at HLRS in Stuttgart and another location in October 2014. HPC User Forum meetings are open to anyone with an interest in high performance computing or high performance data analysis (big data using HPC), including users, vendors, funders, and others.

HPC is helping to solve our hardest problems in the world. Innovations from our community have far reaching impact in every corner of science, all the way to investment banking, in the discovery of new drugs, to the precise prediction of the next superstorm. For more than two decades, the SC Conference has been the place to build and share the innovations that are making these life-changing discoveries possible.
The workshop will bring together researchers and practitioners from industry, academia, and the wider community using Python in all aspects of high performance and scientific computing. The goal is to present Python applications from mathematics, science, and engineering, to discuss general topics regarding the use of Python (such as language design and performance issues), and to share experience using Python in scientific computing education.
