LabVantage Completes Acquisition of SQL*LIMS 

LabVantage has completed the acquisition of Life Technologies Corporation’s SQL*LIMS business. Further, Pat Pijanowski, former General Manager of the SQL*LIMS business, has joined LabVantage as its Chief Operating Officer, and LabVantage reports that almost all of the SQL*LIMS employees have transferred to LabVantage.

“Merging the LabVantage and SQL*LIMS teams together creates a global presence that is unparalleled in the industry,” says Jim Aurelio, President and CEO of LabVantage. “With more than 250 dedicated LIMS employees around the world, plus an extensive partner network, LabVantage is uniquely positioned to meet the laboratory informatics needs of its customers," he added.

A message from Aurelio posted on the LabVantage Web site states that SAPPHIRE will continue as the flagship product of LabVantage. “We will continue to execute against our strategic product direction,” he says.

In addition, LabVantage will continue to support SQL*LIMS in accordance with the current SQL*LIMS product support matrix. “To be clear, we will continue to sell and service the SQL*LIMS product to address the needs of those customers to which it is best suited,” Aurelio says. “Our objective is to ensure that there will be no disruption in the level of service to which you are accustomed, and you can rest assured that your investment in SQL*LIMS will be well-protected.”
