Leipzig, Germany, March 4 – The ISC’13 HPC in Asia Session is inviting researchers and engineers to submit research posters to be displayed during the session. The session, which is now incorporated into the main conference program, is to be held on Monday, June 17.
The five-hour session aims to share information on the latest HPC systems and applications from leading supercomputing countries in Asia – China, India, Japan, Korea, Singapore and Taiwan – as well as presenting related HPC activities and research in those nations.
The first two events in this series were held under the name “HPC in Asia Workshop” in conjunction with previous two ISC conferences. The success of those workshops led organizers to provide a permanent platform for HPC initiatives in Asia and expand the scope to include research posters.
The 2013 poster presentations include the following topic categories, but are not limited to them:
• Applications: any fields of science and engineering computing led by Asian research groups with local HPC resources
• Systems: research on system hardware/architecture/software led by Asian research groups
• Performance: system performance analysis related to Asian HPC systems
Review of Poster Submission
All submitted posters will be reviewed by the workshop steering committee based on an extended abstract (two-page A4 format), including figures, tables and references. Posters will be judged based on scientific value as well as the subject’s significance to state-of-the-art research in Asian countries. Please submit your poster as PDF document to email@example.com. In your accompanying e-mail, please indicate the name and address of the corresponding author and the topic area.
All accepted posters will be displayed at the HPC in Asia Session and along with ISC’13 posters during the conference. The final posters may not exceed A0 portrait paper size (841mm x 1189mm / 33.1" x 46.8").
Submitters will be required to attend ISC or send a representative to present the poster. The extended abstract and poster materials will be included in the ISC’13 website as a collection of workshop materials.
• Deadline for abstract: Friday, May 4, 2013
• Acceptance notification: Friday, May 17, 2013
• HPC in Asia Session: Monday, June 17, 2013
The session will conclude with an interesting panel discussion titled "How Can Asians Conduct Excellent HPC Research with Limited Resources?” Participation will include the six supporting member countries.
The full conference program will be available online on March 15, coinciding with the opening of ISC’13 registration. In the meantime, visit www.isc13.org to find about the ISC’13 topics, the exhibition and the various opportunities available for attendees to participate in this year’s event.

Every year ISC attracts a larger crowd than the previous year, drawing those interested in gaining new insights into their areas of interests in HPC, be it various HPC applications, engineering, advancement of HPC and other related technologies, or simply to meet new people to collaborate and do business.
ISC is the world’s oldest and the most significant high-performance computing conference and exhibition in Europe for the global HPC community. It offers an exceptional five-day technical program with a wide range of expert speakers and exhibits from leading research centers and vendors. A number of events complement the conference and industry tracks including Tutorials, Workshops, Panels, TOP500 Announcement, Research Paper Sessions, Birds of a Feather (BoF) Sessions, Research Poster Session, Student Cluster Competition, Exhibitor Forums, and the popular Vendor Showdown (in a new format featuring leaders from industry), and as well as a number of satellite events organized by our partners and sponsors in conjunction with ISC’13. The conference has experienced tremendous growth over the last few years, with an estimated 2,500 participants from around the world expected to convene in Leipzig, June 16 – 20.
ISC’13 is open to IT-decision makers, scientists, researchers, members of the HPC global community and other interested parties. The ISC exhibition allows analysts, decision-makers from the automotive, defense, aeronautical, gas & oil, banking and other industries; solution providers, data storage suppliers, distributors, hardware and software manufacturers, the media, scientists and academicians to see and learn firsthand about new products, applications and technological advances in the supercomputing industry today.
