SGI ICE X, Rackable and Modular InfiniteStorage products harness the power of Intel’s newest Xeon processor E5-2600 v2 product family. This microprocessor provides a 37 percent increase in peak performance per rack of SGI’s ICE X supercomputer, as well as new performance records for its Rackable line of servers. The ICE X, Rackable and Modular InfiniteStorage products allow customers to run more jobs in the same footprint as previous generations, enabling scientific innovation and bringing new products to market more quickly. Users can take advantage of up to 50 percent more cores per socket, increased processing speeds and improved energy consumption. Users who use these products across the government, financial services, sciences and research, education and manufacturing industries will benefit from intelligent turbo engagement and an approximate 30 percent reduction in power consumption when leveraging SGI servers incorporated with Intel Turbo Boost. The latest generation of Xeon-based servers also allow for greater workload consolidation and virtualization – including the ability to bring total cost of ownership (TCO) reductions of 66 percent.
